THREE REASONS FOR BACKUPS
1. Caistrophic            (least common)
2. Ooops
3. What happened to...    (most common)


NEED
for #1:  removeable (offsite) complete backup, should be recent
for #2:  easily accessable VERY recent  (incremental...)
for #3:  a series of complete backups that cover a lot of time (monthly & sub monthly)
 

EXAMPLE
1.  My computer just fell into the ocean and sunk
    My house burned down 
    My harddrive just quit working!
    Someone broke in here, and they stole my computer!

2.  DAMN!  I didn't mean to delete that!
    BUGGER... those changes didn't work.
    GOOD GREIF, she wants me to go back to YESTERDAY's version?

3.  Come on, i know that invoice was here last month!
    That address was in the database when we called them in April
    I'm sure this file must be around here somewhere.
    How come this spreadsheet won't open -- it was fine last time i used it.
    What's up with my word processor?  It has started crashing a lot.
