Geographical Statistics

(Population and area statistics in usable data formats for nations, states, counties, cities and other units.)

I have always been very interested in geography, political units, and statistics, so it stands to reason that populations and areas are a great fascination of mine. Over the years i have downloaded, or simply keyed-in many of these statistics -- i maintain several spreadsheets and databases.

I found that if these statistics were online at all, they were extremely difficult to access. I have posted these in .TXT format instead of in HTML so they are easy to download and load into a spreadsheet. Unless otherwise noted, all files are in fixed with ASCII format, which is comfortable to view, and can be loaded into almost any spreadsheet or database. Almost all of these files are extend far out to the left. Have Fun.

NOTE: I try to keep these up to date, but i do NOT promise that they are up to the second. Most of this was posted in late 1996.
